About Abby Arkley
After training to become a chartered accountant, Abby Arkley soon found herself travelling the world and meeting different and unconventional individuals on her travels. As an avid fashionista and eyewear connoisseur, Abby noticed that other parts of the world were much more comfortable with wearing unique, brightly coloured frames that showed off their personalities. Spotting a gap in the market for high-quality, alternative glasses, Abby founded the Retrospex brand in 2013, and, after opening a practicing opticians, launched an e-commerce store to serve fashion-conscious customers across the United Kingdom.
Within Retrospex's first year Abby and Retrospex were awarded New Business of the Year at the Portfolio Awards 2014. Recently in 2017 Abby made the bold decision to rebrand Retrospex to Eyeconic Society. Her vision of a society for eyewear addicts like herself. A place for like minded people to find different brands and styles and also to be able to put her own stamp on the eyewear market with her own range of unique accessories, starting with the beautiful design of eyewear cases.
